Winfried Abel (* 5. Februar 1939 in Fulda) war Pfarrer im Bistum Fulda und ist seit 2014 in der Priesterausbildung an der Hochschule Heiligenkreuz tätig.
Biografie
Winfried Abel machte 1958 in Hadamar das Abitur. Anschließend studierte er in Fulda und St. Louis (USA) Theologie, empfing am 21. März 1964 die Priesterweihe und hielt am folgenden Tag, dem Palmsonntag, die Primiz. Danach war er Kaplan in Somborn und Fulda; schließlich 13 Jahre lang Gefängnisseelsorger in Kassel. Von 1983 bis 1986 arbeitete er im ökumenischen Lebenszentrum Craheim, danach vier Jahre in einem geistlichen Jugendzentrum in Fulda, bis er am 1. Oktober 1989 die Pfarrei St. Andreas in Fulda anvertraut bekam. Der Verkündigungsdienst hielt ihn über die Pfarrei- und Diözesangrenzen hinweg in Bewegung. Er unterhielt einen Kassettendienst mit einer Fülle von geistlichen und theologischen Vorträgen (www.st-andreas-fulda.de).
Pfarrer Abel verfasste Gedichte und Bühnenstücke. Er angagiert sich bei Radio Horeb z.B. beim Schulungskurs zum Katechisten, durch die Gebetsgruppe in Fulda-Neuenberg, die das Stundengebet vorbetete, im Forum Deutscher Katholiken.
Abel ist seit 2014 in der Priesterausbildung an der Hochschule Heiligenkreuz in Österreich tätig.
Winfried Abels jährliche geistliche Exerzitien, die er im Bergkloster Bestwig (bei Meschede im Sauerland) im Bistum Paderborn hält und andere Vorträge, werden bei Radio Horeb übertragen.
